PM Modi US Visit: On the last day of his visit to United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a large gathering of Indian diaspora at the Ronald Reagan Centre in Washington on Friday. As he arrived to make his address chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’ echoed through the venue. During his address he credited the role played by Indian-Americans in strengthening the bilateral relations and partnership between India and US. PM Modi said to crowd of diaspora “You have played a key role in America’s progress. Now I urge you to encourage our young entrepreneurs and contribute to India’s growth story.” He also stated that partnership between India and US will make the world a better place in 21st century.
Unprecedented Digital transformation of India
In his address PM Modi also said that ‘India of today is confident about itself, it is converting it’s potential into performance.’ He also hailed India’s digital revolution adding that the changing face of country will surprise everyone. He mentioned how in every corner of India digital mobile payments has become a new normal. “Maybe you will see a barcode board there at a shop in your village. Maybe you try to pay in cash and the shopkeeper asks if you have a digital payment app on your phone. This transformed India will amaze you.” PM Modi said. He added that ‘banking can now be done 24/7 anywhere and at anytime.’

‘Ek Bharat, Sreshth Bharat’
PM Modi said that how after hundreds of years of colonization, India is on a path of tremendous progress. He stated “The reason behind this tremendous progress in India is the belief of 140 crore people in the country. Modi has not done anything alone.” He expressed his gratitude to the crowd by adding “I want to thank you all for showing such a beautiful image of ‘Ek Bharat, Sreshth Bharat’, in America. The amount of love I am getting in the US is wonderful, all the credit goes to the people of this country. ” He announced that defense cooperation between India and US is cementing the relationship between two countries. He also mentioned about opening of new American consulates In Bengaluru and Hyderabad. He added “This is the best time to invest as much as possible in India. The research center of Google’s AI in India will work on more than 100 languages. With the help of the Indian Govt, Tamil Studies chair will be established here at University of Houston.” Subsequently PM Narendra Modi left for Egypt on a two day bilateral visit.
