PM Narendra Modi has arrived on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates following his visit to France. The PM landed in Abu Dhabi and was greeted by dignitaries from the Emirati establishment. PM had said in a statement before his departure “From Paris, I will be travelling to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, for an Official Visit on July 15. I look forward to meeting my friend, H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi.”
Meeting with Crown Prince
The Prime Minister has kicked off his visit by meeting with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During his visit PM Modi will be attending United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change which is being origanised in Dubai. “I also look forward to exchanging views on strengthening global cooperation towards accelerating climate action to facilitate the energy transition and implementation of the Paris Agreement. I am confident that my visit to UAE will usher in a new chapter in our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.” PM said. The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership was signed by India and UAE during COVID-19 pandemic which provides a new outlook towards economic partnership between both the countries.
Meeting with President
PM Modi will also meet up with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The two leaders will discuss key issued including food security, energy and defense.
“Our two countries are engaged across a wide range of sectors such as trade, investments, energy, food security, science and technology, education, fintech, defence, security, and robust people-to-people ties.” PM had said in a statement on Thursday. Both countries are engaging in multiple sectors including science, fintech, technology and various other sectors. The UAE has a big Indian diaspora and has also emerged as a significant strategic partner in the region for India.
