PM Modi To Reach Japan Tomorrow To Attend Shinzo Abe’s Official Funeral

Shinzo Abe’s Funeral: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will fly to Japan on September 27 to attend Shinzo Abe’s official funeral. While in Japan, Modi would meet separately with his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida, the external affairs ministry had previously announced. Most likely, the visit won’t last more than a day. According to sources who spoke to HT, Modi would be one of the foreign leaders who would likely call Abe’s widow on her own.

According to Arindam Bagchi, spokesman for the external affairs ministry, it is wonderful that PM Modi will be able to go despite his busy schedule and attend the state burial because Japan is a friendly country and an important partner. According to Bagchi, Modi and the former Japanese prime leader shared a “personal relationship.”
A connection between politicians in the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), the party in power that Abe previously led, and the Unification Church, which some have characterised to as a cult, was revealed after Abe’s murder in July.

Kishida has made an effort to limit the damage by expressing regret and vowing to sever the LDP’s ties to the church, which was founded in South Korea in the 1950s and is well-known for its lavish weddings and active fundraising. However, the party and his government have suffered greatly as a result.
