Today is the birthday of Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama and on this occasion Prime Minister Narendra Modi wishes Dalai Lama on his birthday. Prime Minister Modi tweeted that he spoke to the Dalai Lama on the phone and wished him on his 86th birthday.
The Dalai Lama, on his 86th birthday, said he took full advantage of India’s independence and religious harmony and was committed to reviving ancient Indian wisdom. Addressing digitally from his residence in Dharamsala, the Tibetan religious leader thanked people from all over the world wishing him on his birthday and said he would continue to serve humanity and fight against climate change. The real name of the Dalai Lama is Tenzin Gyatso.
“Ever since I became a refugee and took refuge in India, I have taken full advantage of India’s freedom and religious harmony. I want to assure you that for the rest of my life also I will be committed to revive the ancient Indian wisdom.”
The Dalai Lama said, “I really appreciate the secular values that are not dependent on religion, such honesty, compassion and the Indian idea of non-violence.
He said, “Now that it is my birthday, I would like to thank all my friends from the bottom of my heart who have shown really love, respect and faith in me…. I can assure you that I am committed to serving humanity and working to protect climate change.”
