On Sunday night, between 300 and 400 people gathered for several hours on the banks of a river in Beijing, China, with some yelling: “We are all from Xinjiang! Chinese people, go!”
A line of police vehicles was waiting on the other side of the canal bank while the gathering sang the national anthem and listened to speakers, according to AFP reporters who were on the scene.
