The Russian Army has penetrated deep into Ukraine and the bloody war has reached the outskirts of the capital, Kiev. Explosions were heard in the capital early on Friday. The Ukrainian government called it a “horrific rocket attack”.
Explosions are still happening in the capital Kiev on the second day of the Russian attack. Russian President Vladimir, ignoring warnings from Western countries, attacked Ukraine with full force by air and land. Dozens of people have died in this and at least one lakh people have been displaced. America and its allies have imposed huge sanctions on Russia in response, but it did not show any effect on the Russian army. On the very first day, the Russian army conquered the strategically important bases of Ukraine.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba wrote on Twitter after the early Russian bombings: “The capital Kiev is being attacked by Russian rockets.”
At the same time, he said, “The last time this happened to our capital was in 1941 when Ukraine was attacked by the Nazi army of Germany. Ukraine won from that bad time and Ukraine will win this time too.”
President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Thursday, “At least 137 of our heroes have been killed in the fighting on the first day.” He called for compulsory military recruitment across the country and the country’s reserve forces to fight together against Russia.
Zelensky said there is now a “new iron curtain” like the Cold War between Russia and the rest of the world. Later he also said that he was left alone to fight Russia.
“They said, who’s ready to fight with us? I don’t see anyone”
Meanwhile, the US has imposed sanctions on Russian elites and banks and insisted that US forces will not go to Eastern Europe to fight in Ukraine.
At the same time, NATO has said that they have activated a “defense plan” for their allies.
