Russia-Ukraine War: Indian government’s released a statement today, the day after Foreign Minister J Jaishankar met with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow, saying that the two countries would talk about both the general international situation in the context of the conflict in Ukraine and specific regional issues.
“India strongly reiterates the return to dialogue,” Mr. Jaishankar
On the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Mr. Jaishankar stated today, “India strongly reiterates the return to dialogue.”
“Where the international situation is concerned, the last few years of the Covid pandemic, financial pressures and trade difficulties; these have taken a toll on the global economy. We are now seeing the consequences of the Ukraine conflict on top of that,” according to Mr. Jaishankar.

More persistent problems hindering development and wealth
In addition, there are the more persistent problems of terrorism and climate change, both of which hinder development and wealth.

At many levels, India and Russia have maintained a strong and ongoing relationship. The most recent meeting between President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi took place in Samarkand in September.
