Russia-Ukraine War: Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, declared in his opening remarks to the US Congress on Wednesday, “Ukraine is alive and kicking.”

Zelensky addressed a joint session of the US Congress and declared that his nation will never capitulate to Russia. He declared, “Ukraine holds its lines and will never surrender.”
Zelensky had just returned from his first international travel since Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the full-scale invasion on February 24, which devastated the world economy and resulted in hundreds of fatalities. Zelensky was in Washington.

Zelensky’s visit to Washington
Former comedian and actor Zelensky, 44, also paid a visit to Washington on the day the Senate unanimously confirmed a new ambassador to Russia.
In addition to providing military support, Zelensky’s reception as a supporter of democracy sent a much deeper message. It was intended to send a message to Russian President Vladimir Putin that despite recent indications of dissatisfaction among some Republican senators over the mounting cost, the United States and its NATO allies stand resolutely behind Ukraine.
The House disregarded the customary requirement that males wear a jacket and tie inside the chamber for Zelensky, whose olive-colored combat fatigues from World War II have gained worldwide recognition.
