A barrage of Russian missiles has devastated and battered Ukraine and has cut electricity supply in the country on the eve of New Year celebrations. According to reports three people have been killed.
In a fast paced development, Belarus has lodged a diplomatic protest that Ukrainian Missile has fallen on its territory, on this Kyiv has suggested that the incident might have been engineered by Russian Federation.
Russia targets Ukrainian Power Infrastructure with barrage of missiles
There have been reports of devastating blasts across Ukraine, as Russia continues to shell Kyiv and Kharkiv. Power infrastructure of Ukraine has got crippled due to continuous Russian Missile raids and it has been difficult for Russian authorities to deliver and restore electricity in Kharkiv, Kyiv, Odessa, Mykolaiv, Kherson and Lyiv regions.
Russian Missile strikes have even struck the far off western regions of Ivano-Frankivsk , which is situated at the foothills of the picturesque Carpathian Mountains ,nearly 1000 kilometers from Russia.
General Valeriy Zaluzhny, the Ukraine’s Commander in Chief, reported that 54 of the 69 cruise missiles Russia had launched had been intercepted.

Russian Missile Strikes : Mindless – Senseless Barbaric Act
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba emphasised that the most recent attacks occurred as Ukrainians were getting ready to prepare for the New Year.
He Tweeted – “Senseless Barbarism”
The Belarusian defence ministry announced on Thursday that its troops had shot down a Ukrainian missile close to the Polish border, near the western city of Brest. Video of the incident was released, showing fragments that had fallen on a field.
According to a representative for the foreign ministry, the Minsk authorities called the Ukrainian ambassador to condemn the event.

World condemns Russia for horrific war crimes
Russia has been targeting energy grid in Ukraine in midst of severe winter season , which has left millions of its people in cold and dark in the middle of winter.
British Ambassador Milinda Simmons has reacted to Russia’s horrific strikes and has stated that Russia does not want peace and wants to subjugate Ukraine.
EU has also reacted sharply and stated that Russian troops are deliberately targeting and killing civilians.
Russia’s justification to strikes
Moscow has stated that strikes on Ukrainain infrastructure are a response to the explosion which took place on the Kerch bridge connecting Russian mainland which was annexed by Moscow.
