Taliban: According to AFP and the Afghanistan Ministry of Higher Education, Taliban officials have until further orders forbidden girls from attending university.
According to reports, the authorities ordered that “education of females” be suspended at all public and private universities in Afghanistan until further notice.
A Taliban government spokesman announced on Tuesday that women are no longer permitted to attend private or public universities in Afghanistan, effective immediately and until further notice. This is the latest order restricting their freedoms and rights. Following a Taliban government meeting, the decision was declared.

Taliban have widely enacted their strict version of Islamic law
The Taliban have widely enacted their strict version of Islamic law, or Sharia, despite initially promising a more moderate government and rights for women and minorities. They have forbidden girls from attending middle and high school, barred them from the majority of jobs, and required them to dress completely in public. Parks and gyms also forbid women’s entry.

The order is announced to be implemented with immediate effect
Private and public universities are instructed to apply the restriction as soon as feasible and to notify the ministry once the ban is in place, according to a letter supplied by Ziaullah Hashmi, the ministry’s spokeswoman for higher education.
Additionally, Hashmi tweeted the letter from his account and provided The Associated Press with a message confirming its contents.
Despite being prohibited from attending classes ever since the Taliban gained control of the nation last year, Afghan girls were allowed to appear for their high school graduation examinations just a few weeks prior to the university ban.
