UAE authorities have instructed its trade partner Indigo Airlines that passengers with a name on the passport who are traveling to the UAE on tourist, visit or any other type of visa will no longer be allowed to travel. This rule has been implemented from Monday itself. This means that there should be at least two words in a person’s name. If only ‘Sushant’ or ‘Abdullah’ is written on someone’s passport, then that person will not be able to travel to UAE.
In some cases, a passenger with a single name will get a discount
The statement said that according to the instructions of the UAE authorities, passengers traveling on tourist, visit or any other type of visa will not be allowed to enter / leave the UAE, if the name is entered on the passport of such passengers. This rule has been implemented from 21 November itself.
However, officials have said that passengers with the same name on the passport and residence permit or permanent visa will be allowed to travel despite having the same name, provided the same name is entered in the passport in both the name and surname columns. Although the company has not told why such a decision has been taken. However, the airline has also asked people to contact their account manager or visit their website hwpadkpahw.bwu for more information.
