Donald Trump: Why Donald Trump May Be Detained At a celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe in July 2006, real estate magnate and reality television personality Donald Trump met adult film actress Stormy Daniels. Although the exact sequence of events is disputed, it seems likely that this week will see the first-ever criminal prosecution of a former US president. The circumstances that led to the politically charged case and Daniels’ involvement in it are as follows:
Daniels claimed she kept in touch with Trump
In her 2018 tell-all book “Full Disclosure,” Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, recalls her fateful encounter with Trump at the Nevada golf club on the banks of Lake Tahoe. At the time, Daniels was working as a “greeter” at a booth in a porn studio, where a photo was taken of them posing together. Trump is dressed in khaki slacks, a yellow polo shirt, and a red hat. Standing next to him is the curvaceous Daniels wearing a form-fitting black shirt that reveals her stomach. At the time, Daniels was 27 and Trump was 60. Their son Barron was born around four months earlier to his third wife Melania. She then describes their subsequent sexual encounter as “perhaps the least stunning sex I’d ever had” in a statement that also includes a disparaging assessment of Trump’s physical appearance. They never get physical, according to Trump, who also called Daniels’ actions “extortion” and “a terrible con job.” Daniels claimed she kept in touch with Trump for the following year in the hopes that he would book her for his reality series, but nothing like that ever happened.
Daniels and Trump were the signatories to a non-disclosure agreement
In 2016, Trump is the Republican party’s front-runner for president. Daniels learns that The National Enquirer, a tabloid run by a Trump supporter, is looking for bidders for her possibly divisive tale about her relationship with Trump. The tabloid placed her in touch with “The Pitbull” and Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen. In exchange for Daniels’ quiet over the 2006 tryst, Cohen admitted to orchestrating a $130,000 “hush money” payment to her. Cohen has since turned against Trump. Using the aliases Peggy Peterson and David Dennison, respectively, Daniels and Trump were the signatories to a non-disclosure agreement drafted by Cohen that has surfaced in court documents.
Avenatti used the funds for both personal and professional expenses
Daniels has been exploiting her fame since coming forward while suing Trump in court and on social media. When Trump criticises her and calls her things like “Horseface,” she subtly calls him “Tiny” on her Twitter feed. Daniels has performed at strip clubs around the nation as part of the “Make America Horny Again” tour in addition to promoting her book. Michael Avenatti, her former well-known attorney, is currently in jail for stealing money from Daniels. Avenatti deceived literary agencies into transferring $300,000 of the $800,000 advance for her book into a bank account under his control without her awareness. Prosecutors claim that Avenatti used the funds for both personal and professional expenses, including dining out and renting a Ferrari.
