Emmanuel Macron: The two-day state visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to France concluded on Saturday after which he boarded a flight to Abu Dhabi for second leg of his two-state tour. PM Modi was the guest of honour for France’s Bastille Day Parade this year. Indian Prime Minister with French President Emmanuel Macron witnessed Indian tri-services contingent marching with the French troops.
France’s President has released a special video for Indian people after the culmination of historic visit. “To the people of India, trust and friendship,” Macron said via a tweet.
‘Indian troops come to fight with us in Trenches’
President Macron narrated the whole video with visuals from PM Modi’s two day visit.
In the video PM Modi is shown receiving Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour which he accepted on the behalf of 1.4 billion Indians. The Grand Cross the Legion is the highest honor in the republic which was created by Napoleon Bonaparte during his reign.
Visuals from the Bastille day parade are also shared where French President welcomed Emmanuel Macron by a warm embrace. Emmanule Macron mentioned how little over a century ago in the year 1916, when through the heart of Paris in Champs-Élysées,”Paraded Indian troops come to fight with us in Trenches,” the French President said in the video.
‘Historical relationship of trust’
French President mentioned the course to strengthen the “historical relationship of trust” between the two countries for dealing with international crises and major global issues as well. Macron mentioned how the visit has been a historic one and it is great moment for France. He was also spotted meeting Indian actor R.Madhavan, who told the President, “It’s such a pleasure. I’m a huge fan.”
Macron was quoted saying to Narendra Modi that “through you, I want to greet India’s contribution to history as in the future of the world and tell you the friendly attachment that the French bring to your Nation and to your people.”
