The billionaire fired the cleaning workers at Twitter’s New York offices
After they went on strike for a better contract, the billionaire fired the cleaning workers at Twitter’s New York offices and stopped cleaning at the San Francisco headquarters earlier this month.
The San Francisco office of Mr. Musk’s company, which has fallen behind on its rent payments, has closed four of its floors and relocated all of its employees onto two floors.
People familiar with the changes, according to The New York Times, claim that they have put the California office in “disarray.”
The newspaper reported, “With people packed into more confined spaces, the smell of leftover takeout food and body odor has lingered on the floors, according to four current and former employees.”
“Bathrooms have grown dirty, these people said. And because janitorial services have largely been ended, some workers have resorted to bringing their own rolls of toilet paper from home.”
Mr. Musk appeared to confirm the report when asked on Twitter if it was true, writing: “BYOTP! LOL, that was accurate for half a day.

According to Platformer, Twitter has also terminated 208 employees in Washington State and will now permanently shut down those offices as it prepares to be evicted from its Seattle location.
The billionaire openly tried to back out of a deal for months before reluctantly purchasing the company in October for $44 billion.
Around 75% of the company’s employees have been sacked or laid off since he took over, leaving “a little over 2000 individuals,” as he stated in a live Twitter chat last week.
Tesla’s stock price fell sharply in 2022, erasing around $700 billion in market value as Elon Musk struggled to reinvent Twitter and stop its financial losses.
