Twitter: The microblogging site has halted the implementation of its Covid disinformation policy, raising concerns among health and media professionals about the impact on attempts to control the still-spreading illness, such as vaccination.
Alert users discovered the move Monday night, determining that a one-sentence alteration to Twitter’s online rules had been published, “Effective November 23, 2022, Twitter is no longer implementing the Covid-19 misleading information policy.”

“A win for free speech and medical freedom!”
“This policy was used to silence people across the world who questioned the media narrative surrounding the virus and treatment options,” tweeted Dr. Simone Gold, a physician and leading purveyor of Covid-19 misinformation. “A win for free speech and medical freedom!”
However, public health officials were upset by Twitter’s decision to no longer delete misleading statements regarding the safety of Covid-19 vaccinations, saying it could lead to additional false claims about the virus or the safety and effectiveness of vaccines.

Eric Feigl-Ding’s appeal to people
“Bad news,” tweeted epidemiologist Eric Feigl-Ding, urging people not to abandon Twitter but to continue fighting false information about the virus. “Stay folks — do NOT cede the town square to them!”
Meanwhile, CEO Elon Musk accused Apple Inc of threatening to remove Twitter Inc from its app store without explaining why on Tuesday. In a series of tweets, Musk provided shocking details about his assertion. According to the billionaire, Apple is putting pressure on the microblogging site about content moderation requirements. He stated that Apple should publicise all censoring acts affecting its customers.
