In a recent bilateral meeting , UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly raised the issue of Tax Survey conducted by Income Tax Department on BBC with his counterpart External Affairs Minister , S Jaishankar.

Sources in Ministry of External Affairs have revealed that the UK Minister had discussed the pressing matters on March 1 and Cleverly was told “firmly told that all entities operating in India must comply fully with relevant laws and regulations”,

Income Tax Survey on BBC Controversy
Incident pertaining to present Income Tax Survey became a headline news last month and has elicited lots of varied responses from various agencies and stakehodlers. It all started last month when Income Tax Department conducted a Tax Survey in Delhi and Mumbai offices of the UK media house BBC for three days over allegations of irregularities in tax payments. However, during the survey , senior staff of BBC had to stay overnight to respond to questions.
The Income Tax Department had alleged that the survey threw up discrepancies and inconsistencies in transferring pricing documentation.
Cleverly in India to attend G 20 meeting
Cleverly has come to India to attend a crucial meeting of G 20 on March 1 and March 2 .
In his tweet, Jaishankar has stated that the two sides had reviewed also reviewed the progress in the bilateral relations and exchanged views on the global situation as well as G 20 agenda.

He further added,
