United States and Germany are expected to announce their decision send their main battle tanks to Ukraine and Germany. This development comes after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a fervent plea to the allies with providing over five to fifteen modern tanks to reinforce Ukraine’s military power.
Ukraine & Germany to send heavy tanks to Ukraine
In a nightly address, Zelenkyy said in his video address,
“Discussions must be concluded with decisions,”
Further stated,
“Decisions on real strengthening of our defence against terrorists. The allies have the required number of tanks.”

US might deliver 30 tanks
US officials have stated that it start sending its M1 Abrams Main Battle Tanks to Ukraine, just days after arguing against Kyiv’s request. Further sources have revealed that US might deliver 30 tanks over the coming months.
In another fast paced development, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has decided to send Leopard 2 Main Battle Tanks to Ukraine and allow other countries to send them as well.
Germany to provide Leapord 2 A6 tanks
Germany was planning to send at least one company of Leopard 2 A6 tanks, which usually comprises of 14 tanks.
Officials in Kyiv are hopeful, despite no official confirmation from the US or Germany.
Andriy Yermak, the head of Zelensky’s administration, wrote on Telegram
“A few hundred tanks for our tank crews… This is what is going to become a real punching fist of democracy,”
Kyiv has been appealing for Western tanks for months, claiming that having them would enable its forces to breach Russian defences and retake occupied territory in the east and south.
