53-year-old husband stabbing her in the chest and bury her alive
According to a report in The Daily Beast, Ms. Young’s 53-year-old husband, Chae Kyong An, bound her arms and legs with duct tape before stabbing her in the chest and burying her alive.
The spouse sought to keep his pension money out of her hands because they are going through a divorce, the outlet stated, citing a probable cause document.
According to the affidavit, the 911 operator reported to the police that a woman contacted the emergency line but sounded “gagged” and “could not talk.” According to the affidavit, the operator also heard “banging and struggle” in the background, but after some time it became “completely quiet.”
Police found the cellphone tower and went to Ms. Young’s house, but they were unable to locate her. But they did discover “evidence of disruption,” according to the affidavit.
On October 17, Ms. Young knocked on a stranger’s door and begged for assistance.
She ran toward the police when they arrived and shouted, “My husband is trying to kill me. Help me” The Daily Beast reported in the article citing the affidavit.

Ms. Young told the police:
Ms. Young told the police that after Chae became enraged during a conversation about the divorce and money, she asked him to leave. Chae attacked Ms. Young as she entered the bedroom to change, repeatedly punching her in the head and knocking her to the ground.
He then duct taped her and left the room for a short while. She then dialled 911 using her Appe watch. When Chae came back, he dragged Ms. Young to the ground in front of the garage door after descending the steps.
The affidavit also stated that Ms. Young claimed Chae struck her wrists after realising she was wearing an Apple watch.
As he drove to a neighbouring woodland, where he stabbed her and buried her alive, Chae coerced her into a van. Ms. Young admitted to the police that she had spent “a few hours in the earth.”
On October 17, at 8 p.m. (local time), Chae was taken into custody. The police also discovered the grave in which Ms. Young had been interred. They also discovered some of her hair, duct tape scraps, and the broken frame of her Apple watch.
Chae’s attorney argued in front of the local court that his client has “service-related mental health concerns,” but Ms. Young begged the judge to keep him behind bars in a letter that was read aloud in court by an advocate. She claimed that she feared for her life. In Thurston County Jail, Chae is still being held without bond.
