The US President Donald Trump on Thursday officially accepted the GOP nomination of Republican Party for the second time to appear as a presidential candidate in the November Elections. While accepting his nominations, Trump hit his Democratic opponent Joe Biden as a “weak” candidate, adding Americans have a clear choice.
“At no time before have voters faced a clearer choice between two parties, two visions, two philosophies or two agendas,” the president said.
Trump gave his acceptance speech from the South Lawns of the White House on Thursday night. “My fellow Americans, tonight, with a heart full of gratitude and boundless optimism, I proudly accept this nomination for President of the United States,” he said.
“I stand before you tonight honoured by your support. Proud of the extraordinary progress we have made together over the last four incredible years, and brimming confidence in the bright future, we will build for America over the next four years,” Trump said.
“In a new term as President, we will again build the greatest economy in history – quickly returning to full employment, soaring incomes, and record prosperity!” he said.
Trump’s acceptance speech ended four days of starry convention of the Republican Party. First Lady Melania Trump, Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr were among others to address the convention.
The convention is an age old tradition of the Republican Party which gathers once in every four years in one of the American cities to nominate its candidate for the presidential bid.
