Prime Minister Narendra Modi will go to America on a four-day visit this month. He will be on a US tour from June 21 to 24. During this, he will be the guest of President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. This will be the first state visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been to America several times in the last nine years. It is being said that during this time there can be many important agreements between the two countries. These include the deal for US-made weaponized drones. According to media reports, the US is pushing for the deal for these drones ahead of the Indian Prime Minister’s visit.
Consensus can be made on drone deal
According to reports, India has been pushing for the purchase of weaponized drones from the US for a long time, although the Sea Guardian drone deal could not be agreed upon due to bureaucratic problems in the past. This time it is being said that the deal can be agreed upon during PM Modi’s visit. This agreement will be of about 22 thousand crore rupees. After the agreement, 10 such drones will be given to the three armies. These drones can operate in a range of up to 6,000 kilometers, flying continuously for 48 hours.
Reports suggest that the US State Department, the Pentagon and the White House have asked India to show progress on the deal for 30 warhead-carrying MQ-9B SeaGuardian drones manufactured by General Atomics after the date for PM Modi’s visit is finalized.
Although the US State Department, the Pentagon and the White House have not commented on this.
Government to government agreement
Apart from this, it is also being said that during the visit of Prime Minister Modi, there can be a big strategic deal for manufacturing 350 fighter jet engines in India. PM Modi and US President Joe Biden may sign an agreement to give General Electric a permit to manufacture fighter jet engines in India. This will be a government-to-government agreement. The Aerospace and Defense Committee of the Business Council will organize Indus X to bring closer the defense sector producers of both the countries.
Significantly, before Prime Minister Modi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had gone on a state visit to America. This state visit of Manmohan Singh as Prime Minister took place between 23 and 25 November 2009.
