Viral Photo: One of the most elusive creatures in the world, Snow leopard, sometimes known as the “Ghost of the Mountains” are extremely difficult to find since they are secretive and native to the harsh, unfriendly environment of central Asian high mountains peaks.
Kittiya Pawlowski, a wildlife photographer based in the US, is one of the select few who has been successful in capturing images of snow leopards. The images from Pawlowski, which she first shared on her social media accounts, have gained popularity after being reposted by organisations like Animal Planet and governmental bodies like the Embassy of Nepal.
Photographer shares pictures and her experience on Instagram
In contrast to Nepal’s pure white and snow-covered environment, Pawlowski’s photographs show the snow leopard. Her images are unique because they showcase divine quality. The decorated photographer documents her travels to Nepal’s outlying regions in her Instagram posts. She claims in her post that in order to reach Khumbu Valley for the purpose of taking pictures of the big cat, she travelled a distance of more than 165 kilometres on foot.
Taking to Instagram, she wrote “After walking through Earth’s most forbidding terrain, lung-starving altitudes, soaring peaks, and high deserts—this was the most difficult and rewarding set of photos I’ve ever taken.”
Netizens in love with the pictures
A Twitter user remarked on this viral photo by writing, “Absolutely breathtaking! You’re still the best I’ve seen. You captured how magnificent are those mountains and I’m just in awe. You’re amazing!” Another individual commented, “It’s my phone’s home screen now, replaced my beloved dog’s pic haha. Never seen such a gorgeous shot before, ever. Congrats! and thank you for sharing this!”.
