Viral Video: On Wednesday, a massive fire broke out at the Jakarta Islamic Centre Grand Mosque in Indonesia, causing the enormous dome to fall. Dramatic social media video captured the moment the dome of the mosque fell. Officials said that nobody was hurt, though.
During renovation, a fire completely damaged the dome. Approximately three hours later (local time), firefighters were called to the area, and at least ten fire engines were sent, as per the sources.

Just before the mosque’s dome fell, video footage captured flames and smoke rising from it. It is not yet known what started the fire. The Islamic Center have been undergoing repairs at the time, according to reports.
The fire and the subsequent collapse did not result in any injuries. Gulf Today said that according to local media, authorities have questioned contractors who were present during the fire and are looking into its origin.

The structure of the Islamic Center includes a mosque in addition to spaces for research, business, and education. The last time the mosque’s dome caught fire was almost precisely 20 years ago, in October 2002, during renovations. That fire took five hours to put out, according to the reports.
