A World War II-era bomb was found in a residential area of Exeter city near London, the capital of Britain. A video of the explosion of this bomb is also becoming increasingly viral.
Unexploded bombs from the time of the Second World War are lying in many places around the world. The danger from these bombs buried under the ground remains constant. Experts have been seen deactivating these bombs many times in the past as well. Recently, British emergency services and agencies detonated a bomb dating back to World War II. This incident happened in Norfolk, UK. Local police said that no planning was done beforehand to blast the bomb.
According to the information received, when it was being deactivated, it exploded. Later the officials were informed that there was no casualty in the blast. The official Twitter handle of Norfolk Police also shared footage of the unplanned explosion. When the Second World War bomb was found on Tuesday morning, after that thousands of people living and working in that area were evacuated. However, efforts to deploy the robots did not go as planned and an explosion occurred during the course of the operation. “The device detonated while it was deactivating the explosives,” the security force said.
Significantly, while talking about this, he further said, “All the army and emergency service personnel are calculating how much damage has been done. However, there have been no reports of physical injuries or casualties to any of the three emergency service call centers or attendees at the local A&E department.”
“The device exploded shortly after work began to disarm it,” said Nick Davison, Assistant Chief Constable of Norfolk Constabulary. “This method was the safest option to deactivate the device. However, there is always a risk of unexpected explosion. Thankfully, no casualties have been reported.”
