Saad Ahmed was a popular YouTuber in Pakistan who attracted a lot of followers with his interesting vlogs and real content. He had a close relationship with his audience and frequently examined many facets of daily life. Saad’s abrupt death devastated his family even more because he was their only source of income.
The Tragic Incident in Lahore
Saad Ahmed made the decision to capitalise on the pre-match enthusiasm in Lahore’s mobile market on June 9, just as the cricket world was glowing with anticipation for the India vs. Pakistan match that was scheduled to take place in New York. Equipped with a camera, Saad embarked on a vlog-making project, interviewing many individuals on their opinions on the impending cricket match.
Fatal Encounter with the Security Guard
Saad went over to a security guard stationed at the market while he was recording. The guard reportedly had no interest in appearing in the video. Still, Saad interacted with him, putting the microphone near the guard’s face many times. The persistence had a disastrous result.
The security guard, losing his temper after being questioned repeatedly, shot Saad. CCTV footage captured the moments leading up to the incident, showing the YouTuber interacting with the guard before the fatal shot was fired. Saad was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Eyewitness Accounts and Social Media Reactions
Speaking to Pakistan’s Geo TV, one of Saad’s friend recalled getting a call from Saad just before he departed to film the video. The friend highlighted how Saad provided the majority of his family’s assistance, highlighting the terrible effect of his passing.
The story of Saad’s murder was swiftly shared on social media by an Instagram account called khattti.meethi.baateinn, which also shared one of his older videos. The post included a statement from the accused security guard, who admitted to losing his temper and firing at Saad.
Legal Action and Community Response
The security man who opened fire has been captured by the local police. Across Pakistan, the tragedy has provoked anger and grief, with many demanding justice for Saad Ahmed.
