• In 1990, the World Civil Defense Day was started by the International Civil Defense Organization General Assembly.
• It commemorates the day when the International Civil Protection Organization Constitution came into force in 1972 as an inter-governmental organization.
• It is noteworthy that in the year 1931, the International Civil Defense Organization was founded by the French General Surgeon George St. Paul.
• This organization was recognized by the French Parliament in June 1935 and in the year 1972 was recognized as an inter-governmental organization.
