Every year on November 1, world vegan day is celebrated across the world to encourage people to follow a vegan lifestyle since it has a lot of health and environmental benefits. This day also marks the formation of the vegan Society in the UK.
According to some notable vegans, the vegan lifestyle enhances human health, protects the well-being of animals, and aids in environmental protection. Vegan food reduces the risks of many diseases and provides you with healthier alternatives to satiate your cravings. The year 2021 will mark the 77 years of World Vegan Day.
HISTORY:
The event was started in 1994 by then Chair of The Vegan Society, Louise Walls, in the United Kingdom, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the origination.
The term Vegan was coined by Donald Watson, an English animal rights advocate who founded the Vegan Society, derived from the word Vegetarian.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VEGAN AND VEGETARIAN:
Vegetarians are the people who do not consume meat, eggs, or the other animal products. Vegan, on the other hand, are vegetarians who do not consume dairy products such as milk, cheese, yogurt, paneer, and so on.
