Zelensky expected to meet Britain’s King Charles III and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak
Reports state that the Ukrainian President landed in the UK on Wednesday. Zelensky is expected to address parliament and meet with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. This is significant since it follows the expansion of British training of Ukrainian military to include fighter jet pilots and marines.
Rishi Sunak’s office said,
“The prime minister will offer to bolster the UK’s training offer for Ukrainian troops, including expanding it to fighter jet pilots to ensure Ukraine can defend its skies well into the future,”
Further the Prime Minister’s office added,
The training would “ensure pilots are able to fly sophisticated NATO-standard fighter jets in the future”,. Prime Minister Sunak will also “offer to begin an immediate training programme for marines”,

Zelensky’s second overseas trip since began between Russia and Ukraine
Zelensky has travelled abroad a second time since the war between Russia and Ukraine. Zelensky travelled to the US earlier in December, his first overseas trip since Russia invaded, when he pleaded for continued US assistance in Congress and spoke with President Joe Biden at the White House.
Last Week PM Sunak’s spokesman had stated that British Military jets were “extremely sophisticated and take months to learn how to fly.”
After that, Zelensky made a stop in Poland on the way back home to meet with Andrzej Duda.
Moscow claimed on Tuesday that its troops were moving closer to Bakhmut and Vugledar, the two main battlegrounds in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk area, which is currently the conflict’s flashpoint.
