The Delhi Police has filed a chargesheet against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh which reveals bone-chilling details including heartbreaking testimonies by the victims. The 1599-page chargesheet has details of the WFI chief’s sexual misconduct with women wrestlers.
Woman wrestler recalls horrific account
In her testimony, a woman wrestler has suggested that Brij Bhushan lifted her T-shirt and touched her, as per a Times Now report. The incident was backed by two co-wrestlers who had also witnessed the horrific account. The victim was touched, and hugged tightly at the WFI office, the woman grappler said in her testimony, adding the WFI chief didn’t let her go for 15-20 minutes.
Sexual favours for medical bills
In another set of startling revelations from the chargesheet, a female wrestler alleged that the WFI chief sought sexual favours in lieu of paying her medical bills. Singh approached her saying he would bear her medical expenses, but in return, she will have to pay with sexual favours, the woman said.
Brij Bhushan Singh ‘liable for prosecution’
Delhi Police had filed a chargesheet against Brij Bhushan Singh and Vinod Toman on June 15 after Supreme Court’s order. In the chargesheet, the Delhi Police stated that Brij Bhushan Singh ‘was liable to be prosecuted and punished for offences of sexual harassment. Meanwhile, the complainants, in their testimonies, also voiced their concerns over the impartiality of the course of the investigation conducted by Centre appointed a six-member committee headed by Olympic medalist M.C. Mary Kom.
